Susan Knight
Susan Knight graduated from RMIT University in 1995 after completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons).
Eclectic is the best way to describe her work as the ideas have developed from a broad range of sources and materials; these include laser cut fluorescent and mirrored acrylic, garden flora, felt, hair, wax and the manipulation of found images.
In ‘Cut Between the Space 2017’ Knight has harnessed the cyanotype printing process and digital scanning to capture and abstract a range of familiar household items. The blueprint is a light sensitive printing process used by architects and engineers in the 20th century for the reproduction of specification drawings.
Knight has fittingly incorporated the process to examine and distort familiar objects, manipulating both form and scale to create unfamiliar planes and spatial environments.
