It's not easy to design original jars| after all, these quotidian items have been around since civilisation began. Dan Yeffet and Lucie Koldova have managed it| their new range of jars is strikingly beautiful, pairing delightfully new form and colour with simple, classic, useful design. The glass comes as transparent or coloured dark grey, olive green or blue. All the jars have a diameter of 280mm, but they come in two heights: 75mm and 120mm. These pleasingly gentle, broad dimensions are topped off with a dual purpose stopper a convex lid which doubles as a serving dish. Each lid is made of finest natural cork, and has a plus or a minus sign on it as a playful reference to the height of the jar. Stacked or arranged, they add presence, style and colour to a table, dresser or room. Their attractive shape and materials make them functional, contemporary and desirable all at once.
